Matter enabled products

The majority of new LIFX products now ship with Matter enabled, meaning they support the Matter smart home protocol right out of the box—no firmware updates required. This ensures seamless integration with a wide range of smart home ecosystems, providing a more reliable and flexible lighting experience. * To check if your model is an LCM4 Edition, access the Light Settings in the LIFX app and check the Firmware number. All LCM4 models have version number starting with v4. If the firmware version started with v3, it will not support Matter.

Matter upgradeable products

We are working to provide Matter firmware updates to all existing LIFX devices that are capable of supporting it. Matter is more resource intensive, so we haven't been able to get this working on all device types. We are planning to provide updates to the following devices over the next few months:
